Subcultural Struggle as the true Culture War

A new path for Dissidents

We often hear Conservatives, Libertarians, and those considered “Far-Right” talk about “The Culture War”, but what does that mean? While those aforementioned groups have differing ideas on what they are fighting for in this supposed Culture War, the most objective definition would be the struggle by different political, racial, and regional factions within the United States and other Western Countries for influence over the culture of their countries. Blacks and Asians always demand representation in films because that allows them to influence the culture around them with greater ease, though it usually ends up turning them into raceless shills for the Ultra-Liberalism of our day. The more Anti-Essentialist the world becomes, the more the Flags and “Nations” of the world start to become meaningless symbols and lines on a map, rather than representations of the peoples that they used to represent. Subculture has taken the reigns of Culture Proper, and will continue to become more prevalent in the days to come. In this article, I will provide some examples of Subcultural Struggles in different parts of the world, and explain how we as Dissidents can use that to our advantage.

The Method of Dress

The clothes we wear tell a lot about us, what we do, what we stand for, and how we think. If you wear suits a lot, that means you're probably a professional of some sort, and perhaps belong to the Neo-Yuppie “Grindset” culture that has sprang up from sites like Instagram and LinkedIn. If you have dyed hair and dress like a Steven Universe character, you are probably a Faggot and likely “Trans” to some capacity. The Outside is a reflection of the Inside, but how does dressing up a certain way help us fight a culture war? Let's take the Hanfu movement in China as an example of this! China under Mao experienced a Cultural Revolution that took them away from Essentially Chinese Culture into a Western Marxist Inspired Culture, and it is still felt to this very day. However, many young Chinese men and women are starting to become disillusioned with the Marxist crap that's still pushed in China to this day, but have no way of verbally protesting it. Instead, they dress Chinese and do so as statement. Yes, they stand out in a crowd and people might think them a bit silly to do something like that, but by continuously doing it and encouraging others to do it, they create their own sphere and thus chip away at the Marxist derived culture of the Chinese State. So now let's ask ourselves, how can we apply this to our cause?

Like the Skinhead movement of the 80's and 90's, a method of dress will attract people in before any ideological statements are made. However, we do not have the privilege of touring bands to create this kind of culture again. Indeed, “Right Wing Music” has become mostly synths and bip boops, with a couple bands that may or may not actually be “based”. However, what we lack in musical community we make up for in a highly developed visual aesthetic culture. We could chalk this up to the modern Dissident scene being very online, but we could also attribute it to the revival of interest in artistic movements like Futurism and to an extent Surrealism and Dada within the Dissident Scene. Anyone looking to spread ideas in their local area should have an idea how they want to dress first. What do you imagine your crew dressing up like? Think of the meaning behind those choices, even if the main reason is “because it looks cool”. Are you a band of Racialist Roller Bladers, or do you prefer the Tyler Durden look? What makes you stand out? Answering these kinds of questions in regards to fashion is key to having a tangible identity for your Tribe.

Lifestylism

You ever read Murray Bookchin? Of course you haven't, you're not a Band Kid (maybe)! However, he did come up with an interesting concept called Lifestylism, something he used to pejoratively refer to Egoists and AnPrims. The basic idea of it is that for a real change to happen, to actually fight the system, one must embrace an alternative lifestyle. For the Anarcho-Primitivist, this is the Innawoods kind of lifestyle so heavily promoted by so many in the Dissident Scene today. For those of us who are not of such a Luddite persuasion, there are other ways. Let's take a note from one of our enemies who has been the most successful so far with this: Faggots! LGBT culture has not only won the privilege of being a “normie” subculture, but one that even non-fags will embrace to a certain degree. Homely, but otherwise straight people will embrace the label of “Queer” so that they can engage in this subculture without having to do actual Faggotry, and this is all thanks to the good PR that Fags get. However, it wasn't always that way. We used to actually clamp down on it, but because the Fags had built bars, made music, literature, and made customs, Fag Culture had been strong enough to inspire them to strike back at authorities and riot. They had made a lifestyle out of an idea about sex, which fueled a phenomenon known as Queer Nationalism. Like it or not, the Fags had the right strategy.

So how do Dissidents do what they did, but for better purposes? It's all about setting standards! Are you straight edge, or are some vices allowed? What kind of vices are allowed, and is there a specific substance that is only used for specific occasions? What are relationships between men and women like? What kinds of activities does your crew do? What does your vocabulary sound like? These questions need to be asked and answered when building up your Subculture. The more you ask and the more you answer, the more cohesive your group will be. Being the “Fashy Body Builder” isn't enough, you need to have a set of activities and customs that set you apart from the mainstream subcultures. So let's say you have your Method of Dress down and you got a few of your buddies to dress the same way. So what do you do? Do you longboard while smoking cigars, tagging up any place you can with occult graffiti? Do you do Kickboxing sessions and then head to the Hookah Bars and play pool to wind down? If you have what you do nailed down, then you have a subculture that goes beyond mere aesthetics. However, it cannot end there.

Ideological Crystallization

Subcultures are always about something, no matter how vapid. For the Yuppie, it's about upping that grind and getting that bread. For the crusty, it's about not showering to stick it to the man! So on and So forth. Eventually you have to settle on what is it that your group stands for. Let's take the Skinheads, which became a Racialist offshoot of Punks. Ian Stuart Donaldson made the decision to be explicitly racial in his music precisely to create a powerful Subculture that was at one point, effective in keeping the Dissident Scene alive. I have my opinions about them, but for the sake of this article I will only focus on what making that decision did for them. It took that militant punk rock energy, and directed it towards a cause. They lived their lifestyles for a goal, that being the advancement of the White Race. Their fights were for that purpose, and they came close to actually being successful in that. Why didn't they succeed? Not enough crystallization, too much factionalism as always. So what is the solution?

We in the Dissident Scene love to promote books, but it's time we started setting up reading clubs, real ones. Once you have your Method of Dress and Lifestyle down, you will then be ready to start discussing the ideology of the group. Start by leading conversations to topics you feel need to be addressed, introduce them to niche concepts. Then suggest books and articles, easy ones at first, and the move on to bigger authors. So starting out with Jack Donovan to introduce them to basic tribal thought is good, but then you want to move on to Neitzche, Stirner, Bataille, and whoever else you think is important. Don't overload them though, as there is a limit to how much philosophy is needed. You need just enough to create a guideline for Subcultural Struggle and what that will look like for you and your crew. If you have gotten them to dress a certain way, and do certain things with you, then at this point you will be able to get them to read and/or listen to certain books.

Conclusions

Our race is in peril, but Mass Movementarianism will no longer work. We need to tribalize in ways that are eccentric and gonzo! Neither the Agrarian Strategy nor the Demontrational Strategy will work at this point, what we need is to go against Modern Culture. This is the perfect time to do it, as Western Culture has been woodled down to a mere piece of text on a passport, a set of lipservices and trivia so you can get access to the resources of this land. What you fight for and what you live for is now up to you, and if you have the passion and the creativity, can carve something out in your neck of the woods. So whether you fancy yourself a Droog, a Racist Cyber-Punk, or something completely unheard of, it is your time to shine. There will be no continuity for whatever comes after the modern secular states in the West, so whatever your Tribe is might be the origin of the next great Civilization! That or you perish into the dustbin of history. Either way, a great and wonderful plethora of Subcultures awaits us, a true Culture War!
